The Abel School was opened in 1938, and ever since then has remained the premier equestrian boarding school on the East Coast. At Abel, everyone is first treated as an equestrian, and secondly as a student.

Students love the equestrian facility, along with what it offers them. Elite project horses are assigned to meet each rider's individual preferences, and any discipline can be ridden at TAS. Not only is Abel proud of it's wide diversity of equestrian athletes, but also of the talent and diversity of our students, who come from all over the world!

PAYTON `

Her horse's dark hooves disappeared into the lush emerald grass, and her own pair of Nike's were barely visible over the top of the blades. A cool breeze ran through Payton's hair, and she smiled as her pony dropped the weight of his large head into her hands. "You're a good boy, did you know that?" her voice was a mere whisper, tainted with the smile that crept up onto her plump lips, coated in a thin layer of Bert's Bee's lip balm. The girl was standing directly in front of her horse, hands supporting his head as he rested. Kestrel's hind hoof was propped up peacefully, and his deep brown eyes were nearly shut, lids flickering gently. His tail, two-toned with a heavy dorsal stripe, flicked up against his barrel, ridding himself of insects.

"Come on, Kes," Payton spoke affectionately, having taken a step forward to his shoulder and now tapped gently on his leg. "Lie down." The stocky horse began to fall, as if in slow motion, onto the grass. He lowered himself rather gracefully, and curled his legs beneath his massive body. Payton then joined the horse in the grass with a soft sigh, twisting a handful of grass from the dirt as she did. Crossing her legs at the ankles, she leaned her back up against his barrel, tearing apart the emerald strands with her fingers.

Payton wore a soft creme shirt, made of silk that hung rather loosely around her frame, but flattered her all the same. Down her legs, she had on dark denim skinny jeans, complimented by the Nike Dunks that she wore upon her feet: leopard and white, with bright orange stitching. With a small smile at her flashy shoes, Payton looked up and around the vast and empty pasture, rubbing her horse's golden cannon as she did. Recently, Payton had been rather lonely. She could go for some company right about now..

Pale mane flowing in gentle waves down the pretty little mares neck, tail acting like a waterfall of pure smooth hairs without a single tangle. Forelock almost reaching her eyes and obscuring her eyes. Her coat a pretty pale golden, almost white, except in some areas where it was a crispy caramel, like around her right eye and on her legs. Her mane was a sandy yellow. Almost like grey horses get when their not washed. However, the pony's mane, even when perfectly clean, was still the same colour. It had been thought at the stud the pretty little pony was born at, that she'd be a misty grey, judging from the black filly with swirly dark grey through her coat. However, the pretty pony had surprised everyone. Another surprise, Stormy had been expected to mature 14.2hh, however, had grown to only 13.2hh, which meant every time her owner grew out of her, she was sold. Most people sold her by the time they were 13 or 14. Jaydi was already 16 and standing at 4'8" she was still not to tall for the small pony.

Standing with her back to the ponies neck, lead rope draped over her withers, Jaydi prepared to vault onto the ponies back. In one swift moment, holding her ponies mane, she lightly leapt onto her back. Jaydi lay over the mares neck and gave her a hug, knowing she had the best pony she could ever dream of having. She desperately wanted to take Stormy out on the trails, but she had to wait until the mare had settled in before even riding her. She was great at any show grounds, but when it came to a new stable, she needed time to settle. If you tried to ride her before that time, she'd spook at everything. Jaydi knew there was a high possibility Stormy would spook. If that happened, she didn't want to be riding alone, or with someone who wasn't a good rider. She knew from previous experience, that if she fell, Stormy would bolt. If that happened, someone would need to catch her and calm her down before she injured herself.

Stormy had been trained to listen to a riders legs, and was able to be ridden without tack or halter. However, Jaydi knew that if she spooked, having the halter and lead rope would help. She wasn't ready to jump into such daring riding yet. Gently squeezing the mares legs, they trotted towards the paddock gate where she would let Stormy go for a while before a ride. Stormy stood calmly and moved in exactly the right places at exactly the right time for Jaydi to open and close the gate without dismounting. Seeing another horse already in the paddock, Stormy started prancing with anticipation, wanting to go and play. Jaydi stayed seated on the mares silky back, and with a bit of preasure from her calf muscles, was able to calm the mare. Once ready, Jaydi looked at the other horse, trying to work out who it was. However, she hadn't been here long and didn't know many of the horses. Stormy had been arrived over a month before Jaydi, so she could settle down and relax. Jaydi hadn't met who ever had cared for her pony that month. Spotting a girl sitting with the horse on the ground, Jaydi grinned, spoke to her pony, then urged her into a canter, hoping to make a new friend. However, Jaydi was no fool, and slowed to a trot when they were a hundred meters away, and a walk before reaching the pair, so as not to scared the grounded horse.

PAYTON `

Eyes shut, hands resting upon her belt, Payton had become relatively restless as she sat with her golden horse. Kestrel, remaining on the ground behind his girl, had lowered his pale muzzle into the soft grass that surrounded them. There he, too, had allowed his eyes to flutter closed, and he teetered on the edge of unconsciousness for some time. Payton could decipher the horse's great drawing of breath, even with his exhale, above all other noises; as if her ears had been trained to block out the others. It was as if everything else did not even exist. Payton smiled, turning her cheek against the soft side of her horse's barrel, breathing his clean scent in deep.

Although, with very little warning, Payton felt the sudden shift of her horse's muscles, and she then had to act very quickly to avoid injury. Kestrel heaved his weight forward, pushing his legs up against the grass and quickly rising up from the ground and into a standing position. Payton, a bit dumbfounded by her horse's abrupt change in position, remained crumpled in the grass on her knees, looking up at him with a raised brow, "What's with you?" she questioned, insulted. Her back was to the horse and rider who were now slowing to a walk towards them. Kestrel, on the other hand, eyed them pleasantly, having recovered from his shock brought on by the sound of approaching hooves in his sleepy, thus blinded and defenseless, state.

The girl turned her head, looking to where her horse was pointing with flared nostrils. She observed the pair near to her now, making to stand up as she saw them. A small smile appeared across her expression, but she turned away as quickly as she had faced them; and at the same time, bent down to grab the thick, braided lead rope from the grass. She reached out to her horse, closing the distance between them as her fingers wrapped around the side of his leather halter. There was no need to take a risk with an unknown horse: better safe than sorry.

Turning back to face the unknown horse and rider once more, she offered up another smile. "Hello," Payton said cheerfully, glancing down at the pony which supported the weight of the unknown girl on it's back. Payton recognized the pony nearly at once, for she had seen him once or twice in the barn during the recent months.

Curly blond hair slightly frazzled from the canter and covered by no helmet, the girl halted her pony near the other pair and patted her strong sleek neck, grinning. The mare shook her head, throwing it around, eyes rolling and muscles twitching. She just wanted to run, and didn't like being told to stop. Jaydi laughed, pulling back slightly on the lead rope, letting Stormy know she was in charge. Hey. What you doing out here? Her voice was filled with happiness and laughter. She lightly brushed her hair from her eyes and smiled at the stranger before her. Their eyes were almost level, seeing as Stormy was such a small pony. Jaydi thought for a moment, wanting to keep riding and knowing Stormy wanted to go just as much as she did. Do you want to go for a ride?

((Sorry its sooo short but I have no muse. I've tried to put in enough for you to be able to reply to tho))
